Located around 3.5 kilometres from Ericeira and right by the river mouth that provides its name, Ribeira d' Ilhas Beach is considered one of the best in Europe for both surfing and bodyboarding. Since 1985, it has annually hosted one of the world surfing championship events.
Enclosed by the steep slopes of the valley, the Beach is also home to a number of bars creating a more upbeat ambience.
